Innovative pathways for efficient
involvement of girls and young
women in the forestry sector –
Fem2forests

The Fem2Forests project will explore opportunities to promote the forestry sector in order to encourage more young people to pursue careers in this field.

The project will place particular emphasis on girls and young women as future professionals in forestry. The objective of Fem2Forests is to develop innovative career pathways for girls and young women, strengthen the capacity of forestry education institutions through the integration of a gender perspective, and improve framework conditions to facilitate the effective inclusion of women at various levels and positions within forestry organisations and relevant labour markets.

Through the implementation of the planned activities, the project partners aim to contribute to increasing the share of women in the forestry sector — including in leadership positions — by 2030.
