Still untapped opportunities for cooperation between conventional enterprises and social economy (SE) organizations can be decisive for achieving the twin transition and, at the same time, for shaping a more sustainable and resilient EU economy. SE organizations are recognized as key actors in the development of circular value chains due to their economic model, which balances social and environmental responsibility with profitability. This model increasingly aligns with the interests of conventional businesses, thereby expanding opportunities for the systematic integration of value chains.
The objective of the project is to strengthen partnerships between social enterprises and conventional businesses in order to improve market access for social enterprise products and services. It places a particular focus on sectors related to the circular economy, such as textile recycling, fashion, and eco-design. The project develops a model of training activities and B2B events aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and business performance of social enterprises. Business agreements (between for-profit and social enterprises, aimed at fostering new and valuable business relationships) and training opportunities (to address emerging challenges faced by the social enterprise sector) will be facilitated.

Good Practices of Partnership Cooperation between Social and Conventional Enterprises – BuySocial B2B Collection
Within the BFSE-B2B project, we have prepared a comprehensive report aimed at strengthening partnerships between enterprises operating in the social economy and those active in the conventional economy, through an in-depth analysis of selected, particularly relevant case studies.
The analysis focuses primarily on social economy enterprises that have long-standing partnerships with conventional companies, including: Urbike & Facq (Belgium), La Varappe & ONET (France), Naturgy (Spain), IKEA & I-Did (the Netherlands), and Goel (Italy).
The report also includes an analysis of the various practices examined, covering their history—from inception to development—the economic and social contexts in which they emerged, the objectives they have achieved, and the goals they have set for the future.
More information about the good practices and the BuySocial project is available in our Good Practices Report.
