“Mobile Talent Testing” is coming to us too!

Mobita SI-AT is a mobile career orientation model designed for students aged 9 to 15. Through structured half-day interactive assessment sessions, incorporating multiple practical testing stations and standardized evaluation procedures, it provides systematic insight into participants’ abilities, skills, and interests — including those aligned with emerging and future-oriented occupational fields.

Why is there a need for a mobile career orientation model?

Current career guidance models in Slovenia and Austria largely depend on the initiative and engagement of individual schools or practitioners. They often present a key limitation: talents are predominantly assessed from a subjective perspective and then integrated into counselling processes without sufficiently objective measurement. The resulting evaluations and feedback frequently lack depth and specificity, and even more often fail to establish meaningful links to emerging and future-oriented career fields.

In addition, hands-on assessment opportunities are primarily available in urban centers. This creates structural inequality, as children and students living in rural or geographically remote areas — due to limited mobility and place of residence — do not have equal access to practical testing and guidance services.

Within the framework of the cross-border pilot project, we will, together with our project partners over the next three years:

• Develop and pilot an innovative career orientation model, including a digital and largely automated assessment process (75 pilot implementations involving at least 1,500 participating students).

• Provide students aged 9–15 with a new, high-quality, and accessible career guidance service, including the assessment of abilities, skills, and interests. Teachers, career counsellors, and parents will be able to use the assessment results together with students in the subsequent career decision-making process.

• Ensure systematic monitoring and structured support for schools within the programme area in the field of career orientation.

• Train career guidance professionals in the programme region to work with the new career orientation model (mobile talent assessment stations).

• Establish the SI-AT Career Platform to promote cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange, enabling stakeholders to collaborate in the development and implementation of new career guidance activities in both Slovenia and Austria.

• Conduct joint research activities, develop new concepts, facilitate networking, and organise dissemination events in order to expand the impact of our work and contribute to the long-term systemic integration of career orientation into sustainable policies and programmes in both Slovenia and Austria.
